| Abstract: Three experiments examined whether or not a single drawing function would transfer to the other member of the class. A paper-and-pencil protocol was designed and used to establish two three-member equivalence classes (A1, B1, C1 & A2, B2, C2). Nonsense syllables were used for all stimuli, (ZID, KAP, TIV & YIM, DOJ, VEK) and different drawing function was used in each experiment. Participants were presented with five Envelopes containing six stimulus response cards. Participants were instructed to respond as they felt appropriate. Results from Experiment 1 showed that transfer of function was absent, with variability in responses recorded. Experiment 2 modified the training by showing drawings of the figure of a ‘stickman’ that were required at B1; results were similar to those seen in Experiments 1. Experiment 3 modified the training by showing drawings of the written word for ‘stickwoman’ that were required at C1; results were similar to those seen in Experiments 1 and 2. |
