  • Always carry your prescription medication in original packaging with your doctor’s prescription.

Emergency Medical ID

For travelers to Prague, carrying an emergency medical ID (bracelet, necklace, or digital card) is strongly advised, especially for those with chronic conditions, to bridge language barriers. It should contain critical health data and can be used to alert local responders. Key info includes emergency number 112, your name, conditions, and travel insurance details.

  • What to Include: Your full name, blood type, allergies, chronic medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, epilepsy), current medications, and emergency contact numbers.
  • Language: Ensure the ID lists information in English and, ideally, basic Czech translations (e.g., alergie for allergies, cukrovka for diabetes).
  • Emergency Contact Number: Dial 112 for the EU emergency line, which has English-speaking operators.
  • Medical Insurance: Bring your travel insurance policy details, as is required for non-EU visitors.
  • Medical Information Access: Consider carrying a translation card that lists your needs in your primary language and Czech.

TravelEmergencyCard

Important Tips for Travelers:

  • EU Citizens: Bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
  • Non-EU Citizens: Ensure you have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses and evacuation.
