Biography
At the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), I have had the opportunity to learn about and apply culturo-behavior science in organizational and educational settings. I have particularly focused on Values-Based Governance, Acceptance and Commitment Training, and ways to measure and promote prosocial behaviors. I am part of an interdisciplinary research team at UNR’s School of Medicine known as PROACTIVE (Promoting Research, Outreach, Acceptance and Commitment Training, Interdisciplinary-collaboration, and Values-driven Education). Through collaborative action between leadership, faculty, and students at UNR Med and the Performance System Technologies lab, our team has supported the promotion of well-being, professional resiliency, and interprofessional cooperation throughout the system. I’m honored to have co-authored articles and conference presentations demonstrating the impacts of culturo-behavior science in an interdisciplinary context. Topics have included: compassionate care, cultural humility, psychological flexibility, social validity, cooperation, brief immediate relational responses, high-reliability organizations, and Acceptance and Commitment Training.
