Incoming Executive Council Members

ABAI welcomes incoming Council members President-Elect Dr. Maria Martha Costa Hübner from São Paulo, Brazil; Experimental Representative Dr. Peter Killeen, from Arizona, USA, International Representative Dr. Ingunn Sandaker, from Oslo, Norway, and Student Representative-Elect Kenneth W. Jacobs at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. Their terms begin Monday, May 26, 2014 and extend to May 2017.

  • Listen to Gary Taubes, Presidential Scholar for ABAI's 40th Annual Convention, talk on NPR's "Morning Edition" about America’s obesity problem and how the "fat-free boom" contributed to it. Click here to listen to the story. Taubes's talk on Sunday, May 25 at 5 pm, is titled, "Why We Get Fat: Adiposity 101 and the Alternative Hypothesis of Obesity."

    Congratulations Dr. Caio Miguel

    ABAI would like to congratulate Dr. Caio Miguel, who has been selected receive of one of three Outstanding Mentor Awards from the Student Committee. California State University, Sacramento issued a press release describing the work and mentoring Dr. Miguel has engaged in over the years that contributed to his nomination for this award.
