Offset Your Conference Air Travel Emissions

Air travel generates significant amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, about 1/4 pound per passenger mile. We invite you to offset that load with a voluntary contribution, which ABAI will send to Cool Effect, a non-profit dedicated to reducing carbon emissions around the world by allowing individuals, businesses, and organizations to help fund high quality carbon reduction projects and have a tangible impact on climate change. How much should you contribute for your trip to an ABAI event? Multiply your one-way flight time (search “flight time from ___ to ___”) by $1.50/hour to calculate the suggested contribution for your round trip. From Chicago to Washington, DC, it would be about $3, and from Los Angeles to DC about $10. It’s not a lot, but it will add up. Additionally, you can let Cool Effect’s easy-to-use Travel Offset Tool calculate flight emissions and contribution for you.
