Getting Around New Orleans

Algiers Ferry offers some of the best views of the city. Since 1827, this ferry has traveled across the Mississippi River to the historic neighborhood of Algiers Point.

Biking—rent a bike from one of the many shops around town, or take a themed tour delving into architecture, food, or history.

Blue Bikes Bike Share has bikes installed around the city, from the Garden District all the way to Bywater.

Pedicabs are a fun way to go short distances. Many drivers are also licensed tour guides.

Streetcars are a charming and convenient way to experience the many areas of New Orleans. Four lines run through the French Quarter and beyond.

Taxis can be an efficient way to explore since New Orleans is a small “big city.”
