Hybrid Career Fair: 11th Annual Autism Conference

Online at Career Central, January 18–February 15 (Registration open January 18–27)

 

On site, Wednesday, February 1, 5–6 pm, 2nd floor of the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino: participating exhibitors. The interview room will be available Tuesday, January 31, and Wednesday, February 1, 8 am–8 pm and Thursday, February 2, 8 am–3 pm.

ABAI is bringing back its hybrid career fair, tailor-made to increase ROI for employers and add new value for behavior analysts at all stages of career development.

Exhibitors participating in the career fair will benefit from full conference exposure as well as be highlighted both online and in the convention app as career fair participants.

 

Non-exhibiting companies participating in the virtual career fair will receive all the same marketing and career central benefits as exhibiting companies and include reservation time in the interview rooms.

ABAI’s 2014–2016 post-event surveys indicate that more than 30% of exhibitors participate in order to recruit—don’t miss the unique opportunity to meet recruiters face-to-face and make personal connections that are impossible when just submitting a résumé online.

How to Participate

Exhibiting Companies

Fee: $200

 

There are two ways to make the most of the career fair:

 

Virtual pre-conference

  • Register at Career Central January 18–27. If you do not already have a portal account, create one for free.
  • Post job openings (conference logo will appear beside postings; cost of posting not included).
  • Search résumés (January 18–February 15).
  • Schedule interviews ahead of time—make the most of the rooms provided. A maximum of 2 hours for rooms will be enforced unless unused times become available.

 

On site at the conference

  • Ensure recruiters are available during career fair hours.
  • Accept résumés.
  • Monitor ABAI’s Career Central to browse new job seekers.
  • Reach out to potential candidates throughout the conference.
  • Conduct interviews—don’t miss this valuable face-to-face opportunity.

 

Non-Exhibiting Employers

Fee: $500

Job Seekers

Virtual pre-conference

  • Sign up January 18–31 for the career fair online at ABAI’s Career Central.
  • Upload your résumé.
  • A conference logo will indicate you are signed up for the career fair and looking for a position.
  • Search participating employers. (Look for the conference logo beside their job postings.)
  • Reach out to employers to let them know you are interested; private rooms will be available at the conference for employers to schedule interviews.
  • Check out the conference app to keep up with participating companies.
  • Not attending the conference? No problem! Sign up and upload your résumé anyway. During career fairs recruiters search Career Central to see who is looking for a new opportunity. Make the most of the added flurry of activity on Career Central during this time.

 

On site at the conference

  • Print several copies of your résumé.
  • Be prepared and bring your best self.
  • Visit participating companies during career fair hours.
  • Frequently check the conference app to see what new companies have signed up.
  • Frequently check Career Central to see what new jobs are posted; reach out to companies letting them know you are at the conference and available to meet.
