Association for Behavior Analysis International

The Association for Behavior Analysis International® (ABAI) is a nonprofit membership organization with the mission to contribute to the well-being of society by developing, enhancing, and supporting the growth and vitality of the science of behavior analysis through research, education, and practice.

ABAI Accepting Proposals for International Conference Locations

ABAI's international conference occurs every two years. Past conferences have taken place in Kyoto, Japan; Mérida, Mexico; Granada, Spain; Oslo, Norway; Sydney, Australia; Beijing, China; Campinas, Brazil; and Venice, Italy. Chapters in these areas have benefited from the increased interest resulting from hosting an international conference.

Non-U.S.A. affiliated chapters of ABAI are invited to make proposals for the location of our 2021 and 2023 conferences. Two important aspects of the selection process for future sites are the potential impact of the event on dissemination of behavior analysis in the region and the number of people who can be expected to attend. The role of host chapters in supporting international conferences includes helping to market the conference and attract participants and presenters, and providing local volunteers to assist ABAI staff in conducting the conference, translating materials, and serving as interpreters, if needed.

ABAI will assume the financial and administrative responsibility for the conference and will work with local chapters on promotion and dissemination activities.
