Dr. Derek Reed is a use-inspired basic researcher interested in translating findings from the operant laboratory to issues of everyday societal importance. His Laboratory in Applied Behavioral Economics in the Department of Applied Behavioral Science at the University of Kansas is working to understand the behavioral processes associated with sustainable environmental decision making, as well as the behavioral economics associated with health issues such as skin cancer detection and prevention. He has served as co-editor of the Division 25 (Behavior Analysis) Recorder newsletter and is an editorial board member for Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, The Psychological Record, and The Behavior Analyst, in addition to serving as an associate editor for Behavior Analysis in Practice. Dr. Reed has served as a guest reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Clinical Psychology Review, Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology, and Psychological Bulletin.
