Webinar Series: Defining DEI in Behavior Analysis: Foundations, Evolution, and Action, April 2026
Abstract:
This panel explores how diversity, equity, and inclusion are currently defined within behavior analysis and how these definitions have evolved over time. Panelists will reflect on the historical contexts that shaped today’s DEI frameworks and discuss how concepts such as belonging, accessibility, and justice expand and deepen our understanding of DEI in practice. The conversation will also highlight the values, resources, and influential writings that guide panelists’ work, offering attendees concrete tools, citations, and perspectives to support ongoing learning and committed action in their own professional contexts.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify and define current conceptualizations of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within behavior analysis
- Describe how historical and social contexts have shaped the evolution of DEI definitions in the field
