2. I am new to START. How do I set up my account?
In order to access START, you must have an ABAI account that allows you to log into the ABAI Portal. If you are not sure whether or not you have an account, use the “Find Your User Name and/or Password” function on the ABAI portal login page to check by searching for your name under Individual account or your employer under Institution account, depending on why you would like to use START. [An individual account is a personal account and is for users who may want to post resumes and search for (and/or apply to) a job posting. An institution account is for employees of an organization or company (or a self-employed individual) intending to utilize START on behalf of their employer to post jobs and search resumes.]
If you do not have an ABAI account, you can create one using the same Web page. While viewing the page, click on the link that reads “HERE” under the heading “Create an Account” to set up an account.
After you log into your ABAI account, you will see either a link named either “Enroll in START as an Applicant,” “Enroll in START as an Employer,” or “Enroll in START as a Graduate Program,” depending on whether your account is an individual or institution account. Clicking on this link will allow you to fill out a short form with your information. Once this form is complete, you can begin to enjoy START services.
