Applicants must be enrolled or have been accepted in a doctoral program in a department of psychology or behavior analysis in which there is a sufficient number of behaviorally oriented faculty members to sponsor and supervise research. Additionally, applicants must have at least 2 full years remaining in the program after the fellowship application deadline.
Note: Applicants may not apply for the SABA Experimental Fellowship and the Bijou Fellowship in the same year.
The primary criterion for the SABA Experimental Analysis of Behavior Fellowship is the applicant's commitment to the experimental analysis of behavior.
Applicants must obtain letters of recommendation in support of their application. Letters of recommendation are limited to two. Further letters will not be reviewed. Additionally, the applicant's advisor must send a letter verifying that the applicant has a minimum of 2 full years in the program remaining after the fellowship application deadline.
There are no constraints on a recipient's nationality or on the country in which the university is located.
The SABA Board of Directors constitutes the Fellowship Selection Committee. The SABA board consists of the Full members of the ABAI Executive Council plus the SABA secretary-treasurer. The Fellowship Selection Committee selects the applicant at the fall board meeting. The fellowship recipients will be announced during the SABA Awards Ceremony at the opening event of ABAI's annual convention, and the recipients' names will be published in Inside Behavior Analysis.
