2008 Organizational Membership Application (PDF File)
1. Do you automatically become an ABAI Organizational Member once you apply?
No, an organization must submit the 2008 Organizational Membership form, its logo, a 65-word description for the Web site, and a two-page introductory article for consideration by the Organizational Membership Review Committee. Your organization must have at least one full-time employee who is a Full Member and at least one full-time employee who is a BCBA for the year for which you are applying. Please note that items submitted for public posting are subject to review by ABA International.
2. How long does an Organizational Membership last?
Membership lasts from January 1 to December 31 of the year for which you apply. Organizational Membership applications for the following year are accepted beginning in September of the current year.
3. In what format does the organization’s logo need to be sent to ABAI?
A high resolution (at least 300 dpi, press quality) copy of your organization’s logo should be sent electronically. It can be in a .jpg or .gif format; (please contact us at mail@abainternational.org if other arrangements need to be made).
4. How can I tell if my organization’s membership status has been approved?
Once you’ve applied for Organizational Membership and all documents have been submitted, the Organizational Membership Review Committee makes an assessment. When a decision has been made on your status, you will be notified.
5. What deadlines should our organization be aware of?
Applications are accepted for the following year beginning in September of the current year. The organization’s application must be submitted by January 29th in order to include the organization’s information in the ABAI Program book. The ABA International Newsletter Classified Ads are issued three times a year in January, July and October. Please submit your ads in electronic MS Word format by December 15th of the year preceding official membership, June 15th and September 15th of the membership year. (Note: The deadline will be the following Monday if the 29th or 15th falls on a weekend.)
6. If I am a renewing Organizational Member, do I have to go through the approval process again?
If you are interested in continuing as an ABA International Organizational member for the following year, you will still need to submit a 2008 Organizational Membership form, your logo, and a 65-word description of your organization for the ABA International Web site and for consideration by the Organizational Review Committee. You may indicate on the Organizational Membership form if you simply want the same content as the previous year. Please note that print items submitted for public posting are subject to review by ABA International.
7. Will my organization be part of the ABA International’s Organizational Membership online list with links to our site?
Yes, our website will be updated with your organizational name, a 65 word description and contact information once your organization has been approved. This section of the ABA InternationalTM Web site introduces ABA International's organizational members. The inclusion of this material is not an endorsement, authorization, sponsorship, or affiliation by ABA International of these members, their work and services, or of the content of the material they present. A link will be provided for interested parties by clicking on the organizational name.
8. What benefits come with an Organizational Membership?
Organizational Members receive the following benefits:
- Unlimited job postings on START for one calendar year (Jan-Dec). You can also take advantage of our interview scheduling services at ABA International's annual convention.
- One exhibitor’s booth at ABA International's annual convention.
- Three complimentary individual memberships.
- Members receive subscriptions to The ABAI Newsletter and The Behavior Analyst.
- Three complimentary annual convention registrations.
- One institutional subscription to The Analysis of Verbal Behavior.
- Classified ads (25 lines) in three issues of The ABAI Newsletter during your membership.
- ABA International membership mailing list on address labels (one set).
- Inclusion of organization listing in ABA International’s on-line membership directory.
- Logo, 65-word description, and link on the ABA International Web site.
In addition, new members have the opportunity to submit one two-page article for one issue of The ABAI Newsletter highlighting the organization’s background, history, and application of behavior analysis science and technologies through its services. (Materials submitted for publication are subject to review by the Organizational Review Committee).
