Mission/Objectives

The mission statement of the Hawai'ian ABA is currently under development.

Description of Membership

Membership is comprised of both doctoral- and Master’s-level trained behavior analysts. In addition, there are a few other members interested in behavior analysis with no formal training (e.g., a physician, members of the Department of Education).

Annual or Recurring Events

The Hawai'ian ABA holds quarterly meetings and a yearly conference.

Newsletters/Publications

The HABA Newsletter was published once on-line in the past year (2006-2007). We plan to publish at least two newsletters in the upcoming year.

Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts:

As described in our bylaws, HABA is an organization for people interested in behavior analysis and is primarily an interest group. HABA works to promote behavior analysis by (a) promoting and providing training opportunities in behavior analysis; (b) providing a forum for the discussion of research and conceptual issues in behavior analysis; (c) maintaining a Web site containing information about the organization and about behavior analysis in Hawaii and elsewhere; (d) functioning as the Hawaii contact for and representative of the Association of Behavior Analysis InternationalTM (ABAI); and (e) promoting cooperation between behavior analytic organizations in other countries, regions, states and localities.
