Applied Behavior Consultants (ABC)

Applied Behavior Consultants (ABC) began in 1987 in Sacramento, California, providing services for the developmentally delayed. Subsequently our services expanded to include autism and other special needs. Currently, we have a day school in Sacramento and one in Duarte (Los Angeles) for children with autism. These two schools service over 130 children. Our school in Duarte has opened an infant program providing services for 18-month-old children with learning delays. Our school in Sacramento is considered to be a state-of-the-art complex and includes a tower labeled “B. F. Skinner Hall.” In addition to our schools, we have offices for in-home services and consulting in Sacramento, Modesto, Duarte, and Valencia, California. We employ approximately 300 persons. Our work is totally informed by radical behaviorism and we subscribe to Skinner’s theory of verbal behavior. Our practices include discrete trials, a systematic generalization process, PECS, and a positive programming approach.

In the 18 years we have been in business we have continually expanded, and that continues today. California funding agencies are behavior analytic friendly, as are the parents of autistic and other special needs children. Thus, ABC has continual openings for persons eligible for BCBA and BCABA status, and there are ample opportunities for advancement.

Our salary and benefits package is highly competitive in the California Behavior Analytic community.

We have opened two schools for children with autism in China and will open two more this year. We have opened a school in Bahrain and are in negotiations for others. Our staff has recently presented workshops in Taiwan, Bahrain, China, and Russia, and one is planned for the Philippines.

Working with ABC presents a myriad of opportunities.
