Mission Statement
The Verbal Behavior Special Interest supports a behavioral approach to the study of language, especially as explored by B. F. Skinner. We welcome researchers and practitioners.
Description of Membership
Our members primarily consist of ABA members who conduct VB research, are practitioners, or are simply interested in Verbal Behavior.
Annual or Recurring Events
The VB SIG sponsors an annual student research competition, provides for a yearly research grant ($500), and publishes a yearly newsletter.
Newsletters/Publications
The VB SIG publishes VB News annually.
Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts
Verbal Behavior is one of the most complex, interesting and essential aspects of human behavior. This SIG is composed of the leaders in the VB area, researching and applying the latest developments in the field.
