Mission Statement
The Rehabilitation and Independent Living Special Interest Group provides opportunities for education, advocacy, and networking to professionals in behavior analysis with an interest in rehabilitation.
Description of Membership
Open membership, no cost; target members with experience and/or interest in rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, stroke, neurological injury, and related areas.
Annual or Recurring Events
Business meeting at the ABAI annual convention.
Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts
The Rehabilitation and Independent Living SIG is of interest to behavior analysts due to the tremendous need for BA services for individuals suffering from a variety of disabilities secondary to neurological injury. Rehabilitation goals mirror those of behavior analysis, allowing for positive patient outcomes.
