Mission/Objectives
The Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) Network exists to develop, enhance, and support the growth and vitality of organizational behavior management through research, education, practice, and collaboration.
Description of Membership
Any individual who is interested in the area of organizational psychology and who pays annual membership dues is eligible for membership. Additionally, student members must provide verification of full-time student or intern status when submitting an application. The board of directors may establish such other eligibility requirements as it deems appropriate.
Recurring Events
The annual business meeting of the members shall be held during the annual convention of ABAI or at such other time as may be established by the board of directors.
The OBM Network biannual conference is a 2-day conference dedicated to the field of OBM research and practice. The purposes include dissemination of cutting-edge information and practice of OBM, and providing networking and professional development opportunities to attendees.
Publications/Newsletters
The OBM Network News is published three times annually. The newsletter publishes news, brief articles, book reviews, and information related to OBM and behavior analysis.
Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts
Organizational behavior management is one of many application areas of behavior analysis. Because ABA is concerned with socially important behaviors, each individual subfield of applied behavior analysis strives to improve socially important behaviors relevant to the context of that subfield. In the case of OBM, those behaviors and variables occur within the context of the workplace.
