Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts
Behavioral Gerontology is the application of behavior analysis to aging and age-related issues (LeBlanc, Raetz, & Feliciano, in press). By the year 2030, nearly 20% of the American population will be over the age of 65. Nearly every specialty area in behavior analysis has an older population. However, many of the clinicians trained to work with certain populations do not have the additional training to deal with behavioral issues that occur in aging settings. We provide support to professionals in other areas of behavior analysis to affectively deal with these issues.
