2012 Behavior Change for a Sustainable World Conference in Columbus, Ohio
From vibrant downtown districts, to an array of outstanding restaurants and professional sports, to a thriving arts scene, Ohio's capital city offers variety at its best. Four of Columbus's top entertainment areas surround downtown. Next to the Greater Columbus Convention Center, the Arena District is home to the Blue Jackets National Hockey League team, concerts, restaurants, and nightclubs. In the neighboring Short North Arts District, you'll find restaurants, galleries, boutiques, and nightclubs. South of downtown are the Brewery District and German Village, a historic district with restaurants and shops.

The City of Columbus is striving to make sure Columbus is an environmentally friendly location in which to live and meet. The Office of the Environmental Steward was created as part of an initiative that calls for transforming Columbus into a model of conservation and sustainability. The city has adopted a master bike plan that will add thousands of bike racks and 500 miles of paths and trails by 2028. Free recycling containers are placed at every Columbus public school for household recycling. All new city construction will meet LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. The city of Columbus has an anti-idling policy for its vehicle fleet, equipping them with an automatic shut-off for any vehicle left running in park for more than five minutes.
