Continuing Education Events
ABA International ® is pleased to offer continuing education credit for licensed psychologists and Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Certified Behavior Analysts (TM) and Board Certified Associate Behavior Analysts (TM) at the 35th Annual Convention in Phoenix, AZ on May 22 - 26, 2009.
BACB Continuing Education for Annual Convention events
Please use the following links to review the total 174 convention events, by day, that ABAI is pleased to offer for continuing education for the BACB.
PSY and BACB CE for Pre-convention Workshops
A total of 93 workshops will be available to choose from prior to the convention. You may earn 6 credits each of BACB/PSY CE by attending any of the approved 6-hour pre-convention workshops and 3 credits each of BACB/PSY CE by attending any of the approved 3-hour pre-convention workshops for a potential combined total of 12 credits for workshops. Please note that PSY credits are only offered for pre-convention workshops, while BACB credits are available at events held throughout the convention.
CE for behavior analysts will be offered for pre-convention workshops designated as “BACB CE” in workshop descriptions. Sign-in and -out sheets and all other documentation will be available at each workshop. There is a $10 per credit hour fee for CE for workshops, in addition to the workshop registration fee, payable when registering or at the On-site Registration Desk.
ABAI is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. ABAI maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Continuing education for psychologists will be available for workshops designated as “PSY” in their descriptions. Sign-in and -out sheets and all other documentation will be available at the workshops. There is a $10 per credit hour fee for CE for workshops, in addition to the workshop registration fee. ABAI does not offer CE credits for psychologists for regular convention sessions.
To receive CE for pre-convention workshops, attendees must:
- Attend the entire workshop. Partial credit cannot be granted.
- Sign in and out of the event.
- Complete and return the evaluation form provided by the room volunteer.
- Pay the credit fee of $10/credit hour. ($30 for 3-hour workshops and $60 for 6-hour workshops, in addition to the workshop registration fee.)
- Provide a BACB certificant number (for credit received by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.)

BACB CE for Convention Events
Approximately 170 events will be available to choose from during the convention, for a combined potential total of up to 22 additional BACB continuing education credits at the convention. Attendees will have multiple opportunities to earn continuing education credits during the convention. The final review process will be completed shortly, but attendees will have, on average, 40-45 CE events to choose from each day.
There is a $10 per credit hour fee for convention sessions. To attend convention events, convention registration is required. Information packets will be available on-site at the Continuing Education Desk located on the 300 level of the Phoenix Convention Center. These packets will include:
- A list of sessions offered for CE
- Instructions for signing in and out of events
- Evaluation forms
To receive CE for convention events, attendees must:
- Pick up a CE packet (Sign-in and out sheets, evaluation form) from the CE desk located near the convention registration desk at the convention site.
- Attend the entire event.
- Sign in and out of the event with the volunteer located near the door of the room. Volunteers are unable to sign sheets for attendees entering over 5 minutes late or leaving more than 5 minutes early.
- Complete and return the evaluation form provided by the room volunteer to the Registration Desk, located on the 300 level of the convention center.
- Pay the credit fee of $10/credit hour after attending the events and returning the sign-in and sign-out sheet. ($10 for 50-minute events and $15 for 80-minute events.)
- Provide a BACB certificant number.
Credits are $10 per credit hour and 1.5 credits are $15. Checks may be made out to ABA International. Overpayments and discounts not taken will be considered donations to ABAI unless a request for a refund is received by the ABAI office in writing by Friday, July 10, 2009.
CE certificates for those who purchased CE credits will be available on the ABAI Portal by June 15th. Once you have logged into your Portal Account, you may click on “CE Certificates.”
