Mission/Objectives

Purpose:

The Vermont Association for Behavior Analysis organized as a chapter of the Association for Behavior Analysis International for professional, scientific, and education purposes. The purpose of this association is:

Description of Membership

Section 1: Eligibility

Application for voting membership shall be open to any current resident of Vermont or any individual working in Vermont that supports the purpose statement in Article I, Section II. Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and annual dues. All memberships shall be granted upon a majority vote of the board.

Section 2: Annual Dues

The amount required for annual dues shall be determined by a majority vote of the board on an annual basis. Continued membership is contingent upon being up-to-date on membership dues. Dues for 2010 membership are $35.00 per professional and $10.00 per student.

Section 3: ABA Membership Status

Membership in a chapter does not include membership in the Association for Behavior Analysis International and vice versa. VABA members who are not full or affiliate members of ABA International may, however, apply for Chapter/Adjunct membership in ABAI.

Section 4: Rights of Members

Active voting VTABA members may vote in annual elections of board officers.

Section 5: Resignation and Termination

Any member may resign by filing a written resignation with the Secretary/Treasurer. Resignation shall not relieve a member of unpaid dues, or other charges previously accrued. A member can have their membership terminated by a majority vote of the board of directors.

Annual or Recurring Events

The VTABA Annual Meeting will be moved in 2010 from the third week in June to Thursday, October 21st. Time to be determined. The First Annual Vermont Association for Behavior Analysis is scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Burlington, VT.

Newsletters/Publications

VTABA has a new website (www.vtaba.com). Chapter, state, regional, national and international updates and initiatives will be available at this site.

Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts

We are the only behavior analytic organization in Vermont, professional or otherwise. We also promote and include participation from throughout the state (geographically) and from a variety of behavior analytic venues.
