Mission/Objectives

The mission of the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA) is to advance the science and application of behavior analysis to improve the world in which we live. To that end, TxABA strives to disseminate knowledge from the science of behavior analysis to the public and to professional behavior analysts working in Texas and its neighboring states (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico).

Description of Membership

Many TxABA members are professional behavior analysts working in various settings and engaged in a wide variety of types of behavior analytic work (e.g., direct intervention with numerous populations, with many members working with people with autism spectrum disorders; university teaching; applied research;, and basic research). Some members have limited formal preparation in behavior analysis, but are involved in applied behavioral services in various settings (e.g., in classrooms, in agencies for persons with disabilities). Other members are students, and others are family members of persons with disabilities who benefit from behavior analytic interventions.

Recurring Annual Events

An annual conference and TxABA council meetings at least quarterly.

Newsletters/Publications

TxABA Newsletter distributed via e-mail.

Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts

TxABA provides opportunities for behavior analysts to learn of developments in basic research as well as applied intervention and research. It provides a supportive community, verbal and otherwise, for behaving in a behavior analytic manner. TxABA provides resources for persons interested in behavior analysis and also represents behavior analysts in matters important to professional practice and public policy.
