Chapter News (April 2006)

The Icelandic Association for Behavior Analysis (ICEABA) was founded August 15, 2004. At the foundation ceremony, Dr. Charles Catania gave an address and was unanimously declared ICEABA's first honorary member. ICEABA is a forum for people interested in the growth and development of behavior analysis in Iceland. ICEABA’s Web site, www.atferli.is, was launched on May 10, 2006.

Mission/Objectives

ICEABA's goals are to disseminate and promote behavior analysis, support behavior analytic research, communicate with and support students interested in the field, correspond with behavior analytic associations around the world, and to support the establishment of a union of behavior analysts.

Description of Membership

Currently ICEABA has 36 members, consisting of students, teachers, social facilitators, psychologists, parents, and behavior analysts. The members have access to a discussion board (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/isabar/) that has generated 3,660 messages since its foundation in October 1999.

Recurring Annual Events

No annual events have been planned yet, as ICEABA is rather young, but we hope to be able to put some events together in the future.

Behavior analysts interested in visiting Iceland are encouraged to contact ICEABA, especially if they would like to present their work or do a workshop.
