Mission/Objectives
To congregate psychologists, researchers, professors, and students who are interested in the scientific and technological development of behavior analysis.
Description of Membership
Membership is through ABPMC, the Brazilian Association of Psychotherapy and Behavioral Medicine. ABPMC, the Brazilian ABA chapter, currently has 4,000 names registered in its mailing list. Today, ABPMC has 1,800 members.
Annual or Recurring Events
The XX Annual Meeting was September 7–10, 2011, at Pestana Bahia Hotel, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
Newsletters/Publications
ABA Brazil has published a book series called Sobre Comportamento e Cognição (About Behavior and Cognition), with 19 volumes already. Since 1999, ABPMC has published a regular journal called Revista Brasileira de Terapia Comportamental e Cognitiva (Brazilian Journal of Behavior and Cognitive Therapy). There is a newsletter called CONTEXTO, which is published online.
Specifically of Interest to Behavior Analysts
ABA Brazil is of interest to behavior analysts because it annually congregates the community of behavior analysis in Brazil, presenting recent research and applied work in the area, and presents alternatives and discussions of the maintenance and improvement of behavior analysis in Brazil.
