Philippines ABA

By Maria Theresa Conjuangao

The Philippine Association for Behavior Analysis (PABA) had a very exciting and at the same time challenging year in 2007. With the very limited resources of the Association, we are proud that we were able to conduct a second round of accreditation for ABA practitioners in the country. Through the generosity of Dr. Joseph Morrow, President of ABC School of Sacramento and PABA Consultant, we were able to accredit one special school and three private practitioners.

In November, 2007, Dr. Morrow and Ms. Paulette Diaz, also from ABC School, Sacramento conducted a one-day seminar on the basic principles of ABA entitled “When Everybody Cares: Implementing an Effective ABA Program.”

To raise funds, PABA collaborated with A Child Can Foundation, an accredited ABA center in the Philippines. In August, 2007, both organizations sponsored Repertory Philippines’ musical play, Cinderella.

The Association is continuously encouraging membership and accreditation. Plans for the coming year include offering short ABA courses through the assistance of Dr. Morrow and inviting speakers to talk on various topics relevant to the practice of ABA.
