Taiwan ABA
By Dr. Hua Feng
During the past year, Taiwan ABA has accomplished quite a lot of work. First of all, through the continuous support from SEEK Education and Bureau of Employment and Vocational Training of Taiwan government, TABA and National Changhua University of Education held a international conference of ABA and its application to vocational counseling. A group of respected scholars and professionals in the field of behavior analysis donated their expertise by speaking at the conference. The professionals included: Dr. Vargases, Dr. Joseph Morrow, Dr. Jerald Shook, Dr. Linda Hayes, and Dr. Larry Williams.
In addition, the Graduate Institute of Rehabilitation Counseling, National Changhua University of Education, has started to offer Board Certified Behavior Analysts course sequences through the on-campus master degree programs which have been approved by BACB. SEEK Education also has joined the Satellite program offered by University of Nevada, Reno, and tries to offer other options for professionals interested in pursuing BCBA in Taiwan.
The plans of the coming year will include:
- Attend the 2007 ABA Annual Convention, and introduce TABA in ABA Expo and display three data-based research posters in International Poster Sessions.
- Continue to provide programs of beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of applied behavior analysis to train parents, teachers and professionals in Taiwan.
- Help to establish the positive support program in education setting through the functional behavior assessment and ABA principles.
