Maryland ABA

By Dr. SungWoo Kahng

The Maryland Association for Behavior Analysis continues to thrive. We held our 9th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland on December 1, 2006. Over 200 members attended and heard presentations by Sandra Harris (Rutgers University), Tim Hackenberg (University of Florida), Ed Morris (University of Kansa), and Sigurdur Sigurdsson (University of Maryland, Baltimore County). Additionally, this year, we held our first Graduate Student Symposium. We had three outstanding presentations from Eileen Klein (University of California, Santa Barbara), Derek Reed (Syracuse University), and James Diller (West Virginia University). We expect that this Graduate Student Symposium will be an ongoing MABA tradition.

At the end of the conference, David Kuhn (Kennedy Krieger Institute) and Peter Gerhardt (Organization for Autism Research) assumed the offices of President and President Elect, respectively. Furthermore, John Huete (Kennedy Krieger Institute) assumed the role of Member at Large and David Jarmolowicz (West Virginia University) is our new Student Representative.

We are currently planning our 10th Annual Meeting to be held in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday, November 30, 2007. We expect to have another outstanding group of presenters.
