California ABA

By Dr. Christina Whalen

The California Association for Behavior Analysis (CalABA) now includes 739 members, an increase in 29 members from last year. Our annual conference continues to grow in popularity, with more than 800 in attendance at our 2007 conference in February in Burlingame, California.

Many CalABA members attended and presented at the ABA conference in San Diego, California this year, including nine of our board members. Cal-ABA also had a poster at the ABA Expo and hosted a reception at the conference.

The CalABA Conference Committee for 2008 is now busy preparing for next year’s conference which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Garden Grove, CA. The conference will be Thursday-Sunday, February 21-23, 2008. The conference committee is currently planning the list of invited speakers, continuing education workshops, and other exciting events for the 2008 conference. Elections for new board members are also currently underway with ballots available in the Spring CalABA newsletter, which will be sent out in May, 2007.

With its increasing success as an ABA chapter, CalABA continues to further educate and improve behavior analysis practices in California and has a strong influence in surrounding states and across the US.
