Behavioral Gerontology

By Dr. Linda LeBlanc

The mission of the Behavioral Gerontology SIG is to provide intellectual, clinical, and organizational support to other professionals interested in aging and to foster behavior analytic research in aging. The main goals of the behavioral gerontology SIG is to encourage researchers to continue to investigate the topics of aging from a behavior analytic approach. Furthermore, the SIG offers individuals interested in behavioral gerontology a group of colleagues with whom they can share ideas and problem solve as a team to continue to apply behavioral technology to aging individuals. Each year, the main objectives for the SIG are to organize presentations on aging for the annual ABA conference as well as provide contacts and support for professionals in need of behavioral gerontological services. In addition, the SIG has established a $50 cash award that is given to a student presenter at the annual ABA convention. If anyone is interested in learning more about the SIG or would like to be a member, please contact Paige Raetz (paige.b.maxwell@wmich.edu) or Jonathan Baker (jonathan.c.baker@wmich.edu) for a copy of our most recent newsletter which contains information on recent events in the field as well as additional information on becoming a member.
