Swedish ABA
By Kenneth Nilsson
Swedish ABA (SWABA) was represented by 16 members at ABA 2005 in Chicago, more than have attended ever before. During the convention, SWABA presented a poster at the International Expo, at which numerous “virtual members” renewed their memberships and an additional 30 people became virtual members. SWABA had 77 Swedish and 70 virtual members in 2005. Also, bids were accepted for a unique SWABA t-shirt, proceeds of which will be donated to the ABA International Development Fund.
SWABA co-arranged the third Swedish national ACT conference in Uppsala in December 2005. Professor Frank Bond from Great Britain was an invited speaker. More than 200 people attended the three-day conference.
SWABA is in the process of revising its routines and procedures with the goal of improving service and efficiency at the lowest possible cost. Membership is free of cost and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. We are introducing a “SWABA forum” since maintaining contact with our membership through traditional mail has become unmanageable. If you wish to retain your virtual membership in SWABA or would like to join SWABA, please visit http://forums.lagercrantz.name/swaba/ or follow the link from our Web page www.swaba.org. You will then have to register for this Web forum by following the link “Bli medlem” in the upper right corner on the first page. Enter your full name, first and last name with a space between, in the field titled Användarnamn (user name). Enter the password of your choice in the field titled Lösenord (User password). When completing your profile, please be sure to include a current, valid e-mail address so that SWABA can contact you. If you experience problems with the registration procedure, please contact us at swaba@beteende.se.
SWABA maintains a simple Web site (www.swaba.org). SWABA would like to encourage anyone who plans to visit Sweden or Scandinavia to contact Kenneth Nilsson (kenneth.nilsson@beteendeanalys.com), the current president, to arrange a meeting.
SWABA will celebrate its 10-year jubilee in Stockholm from September 8-9 of this year.
