Maryland ABA
By Dr. SungWoo Kahng
The Maryland Association for Behavior Analysis (MABA) continues to thrive. Our annual meeting last fall attracted a MABA record of nearly 250 participants from the Mid-Atlantic Region. Our featured speakers, Jack Michael, Tim Vollmer, and Mark Lewis, took part in our meeting, which included six presentations and a poster session of 30 posters on diverse topics such as severe behavior problems, autism, pediatric feeding disorders, human operant research, behavioral pharmacology, and behavioral safety. During the conference, we also announced our new officers. Dr. David Kuhn was voted President-Elect and Drs. Jennifer Crockett and Stephanie Contrucci-Kuhn were elected Members-At-Large. At the end of the conference, Dr. David Richman assumed the role of President for the upcoming year. In addition, Dr. Iser DeLeon has joined the MABA Executive Committee as Chair of the Professional Affairs Committee.
Plans are currently underway for our 9th Annual Meeting, which will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Tremont Plaza Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. Our featured speakers will be Dr. Timothy Hackenberg, Dr. Sandra Harris, and Dr. Edward Morris. We expect another outstanding meeting. We hope that you will join us this year.
