Blackstone Valley ABA
By Dr. Peter Patch
The Blackstone Valley ABA was created to support the mission of ABA within the areas of Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We are a local chapter and focus on promoting the goals and objectives of ABA as a professional discipline within our area. Activities include providing continuing education for BC ABAs and BCBAs, providing an outlet for student work in ABA and providing an opportunity for students and new professionals to interface with other members of the profession. An additional high priority mission for BV ABA is to promote interaction and cooperation between applied behavior analysis and other disciplines, including those that don’t traditionally ally themselves with ABA. Activities of the last year include founding the chapter and became an ongoing CE provider. The goals for next year include seeking out and forming professional ties with typically underrepresented consumer and professional constituencies, continuing our CE program, and participating in monitoring and promoting legislative action that promotes and allows the safe and effective practice of ABA.
