The Virginia Association for Behavior Analysis (VABA) is an organization for people interested in behavior analysis and is primarily an interest group. VABA works to promote behavior analysis by:
- Arranging an annual conference for the discussion of research and conceptual issues in behavior analysis
- Maintaining a Web site containing information about the organization and about behavior analysis in Virginia and elsewhere.
- Functioning as the Virginia contact for and representative of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
- Promoting cooperation between behavior analytic organizations in other countries, regions, states and localities.
On March 28, 2009 we held our 5th annual conference. The invited addresses featured behavior analysts specializing in a wide range of areas: Chris Correia (Auburn University), Lisa Winborn-Kemmerer (West Virginia University), Carl Lejuez (University of Maryland), and Jessica Irons (James Madison University). Additionally, there was a poster session that featured primarily student research. We intend to hold our 6th annual conference on March 27, 2010. Please visit our Web site at www.v-aba.org.
