Oregon ABA

By Sarah Shaefer

The Oregon Association for Behavior Analysis was officially recognized as a state affiliated chapter in November, 2008 and official membership began early this year. Meetings have been consistently conducted on a monthly basis to develop a strong foundation for future growth. OR-ABA has had the privilege of welcoming experts including Dr. Allan Neuringer and Kelly Ferris as presenters at chapter meetings. OR-ABA currently has 10 full members and is actively disseminating chapter information statewide with the hopes of obtaining additional support. The goals of OR-ABA in 2009-2010 include applying to be an approved CE provider, filing for tax exempt status, continuing to promote the field of behavior analysis through community outreach, participating in legislative efforts to recognize behavior analysis as an empirically based treatment, establishing a state university program in behavior analysis, and soliciting qualified behavior analysts to practice in the beautiful state of Oregon.
