Ohio ABA

By Sheila Alber-Morgan

We were excited about our first formal membership meeting at the 35th Annual ABAI conference in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to this, our initial meeting, interim leaders graciously agreed to serve another term, until elections in 2010. Ohio ABA members interested in serving in a leadership capacity for the state chapter of this wonderful international organization should contact any one of the board members listed at the end of this bulletin.

We still look forward to membership participation as we strive to expand our ability to disseminate information relevant to applied behavior analysis to both members and non-affiliates by establishing a website and conducting a brief conference for BCBA continuing education credits. Membership is open to faculty, students, parents, clinicians, teachers, administrators, and anyone interested in applied behavior analysis. Ohio ABA employs a tri-level membership system: full, student, and affiliate. Individuals interested in becoming members of Ohio ABA can contact any one of the board members listed below. Once your contact information is received, eligible individuals will be invited to join the Google group, where application and membership information can be accessed.

The Interim Board met four times since the 2008 inception of the chapter and our accomplishments included starting a Google group site for members, beginning our membership drive, updating and amending our bylaws and Mission/Objectives, and planning and implementing the first chapter meeting in Phoenix. Two committee chairs, as well as a student representative position, were created to assist with the missions and objectives of our organization. To that end, the Board recruited and appointed Dr. Mort Haugland as the BCBA Committee Interim Chair of Ohio ABA. The education chair and student representative positions will be filled on an interim basis within the next few months.

OH ABA's interim leadership is as follows:
