Nevada ABA

By Mark Alavosius

The association hosted a conference in Reno in October 2008 co-sponsored by the AAIDD (American Association for Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities). This two-day conference featured talks and workshops relating to behavior analysis and the developmental disabilities.

The NABA conference planned for 2009 will be a scholarly meeting focusing on theoretical, experimental and applied issues in behavior analysis. Tentative plans are to hold this event at UNR in November, 2009.

The looming issues in Nevada are threats to education, science, and human services raised by the economic downturn. NABA efforts focus on educating the Nevada population about the value of evidence-based practices and the importance of sustaining education and training systems.
