Missouri ABA
By Todd Streff
The number of behavior analysts and knowledge of behavior analysis principles and practices continues to expand in the state of Missouri. Currently, there are 76 BCBAs and BCABAs, in the state with many more needed to meet the emerging demands. Missouri legislators, families, behavior analysts, and countless others are currently pushing legislation through for insurance coverage of ABA services. As a state chapter, the Missouri Association for Behavior Analysis (MOABA) has some specific objectives, including:
- Organization providing an annual state ABA conference;
- A provider of continuing education for professionals in Missouri;
- Organization to promote the ethical and effective use of behavior analysis;
- A professional network and resource for behavior analysts;
- A resource for those seeking ABA services in Missouri.
Objectives for the next year are to increase membership; outreach and collaboration with other organizations; and to continue to provide a high quality state level conference. Following our conference this year a new group of officers were elected and some new members joined the officer ranks.
