Dr. Caio Miguel

Dr. Miguel is an assistant professor of Psychology, chair of the Behavior Analysis Program, and an affiliated faculty in the Doctoral Program in Education (Ed.D.) at California State University, Sacramento. Dr. Miguel holds adjunct appointments at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and at The Chicago School for Professional Psychology. He is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Dr. Miguel serves as the Editor for The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, and as an associate editor for The Journal of Speech and Language Pathology - Applied Behavior Analysis.  He is a member of the editorial board of The Brazilian Journal of Behavior Analysis and The International Journal of Behavioral Consultation and Therapy and frequently serves as a reviewer for many behavioral journals, including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, The Psychological Record, and The Behavior Analyst. He is also on the Board of Directors for the California Association for Behavior Analysis and The Behavior Analyst Online. His research focuses on testing specific environmental arrangements that would give rise to novel behavior in children with and without disabilities. Dr. Miguel has given over 70 professional presentations and had his work published in edited books and peer-reviewed journals in both English and Portuguese.

Prior to joining Sacramento State, Dr. Miguel worked as a clinician at The New England Center for Children and taught in the M.S. program in Applied Behavior Analysis at Northeastern University.
